Board of Directors

The Board of Directors comprises of three members who are responsible for policy issues and business development strategy. It comprises of:

Patrick Kore – Alternate Director

Patrick Kore

Patrick Kore is a high profile IT professional with over 30 years’ experience. He has spent the last 11 years in IT and business consultancy, directing complex initiatives, developing strategies and driving high performance with multi-national project teams. He is a specialist in business change control processes, data analysis, requirements resolution and documentation. He is effective at cultivating partnerships and building lasting relationships with the principal stakeholders across global business sectors, as well as across the Banking and Wealth Management sectors. He excels at identifying issues and creating innovative solutions. He has spent over 30 years in IT industry based in New Jersey, USA with extensive travel across the globe on assignments.

He is currently CEO of PEAK AML Advisory, LLC, a company specializing in Anti Money Laundering (AML). He works with audit executive members, management and review committees at companies of virtually any size, public or private, to assist them with their AML internal audit activities. This can include starting and performing the risk assessment and remediation activity for them on a fully outsourced basis or working with an existing internal audit function to supplement their team when they lack staff with adequate skills. He has a reputable wide client base including:

He has previously worked as a Consultant with Ernest & Young FSO Advisory, New York, NY and IBM Global Business Services, FSO. While in full time employment between 1990 and 2005, he worked in IT for leading companies in financial services sector. These include Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Morgan Stanley, Data Industries Consulting, Chase Manhattan Bank and Sterling consulting.

He has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Long Island University, Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Kean University and several post graduate certificates in specialist IT subjects including financial risk management, Data Analysis and Anti Money Laundering.

Fred Obwora – Chief Executive Officer

Fred Obwora

Fred B. Obwora holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya. He holds a Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) from USIU in conjunction with Frankfurt of Finance & Management, Germany. In addition, Fred has attended a Management Development Course at Ashridge School of Management in the UK.
He has a wide experience in management having held senior management positions in Kobil Petroleum Ltd and Coca Cola before venturing into private business in 2002 when he founded Crossbridge Credit Limited and later Valueplus Limited. He was the company secretary for Kenya Oil Company Limited for many years. Fred has several years of extensive experience in the industrial, manufacturing, distribution and service sectors. While at Coca-Cola, he seconded the head office in Port Elizabeth, South Africa for one month as a member of a team studying and streamlining operations at the head office and branches in SA.

Effie Obwora – Non-Executive Director

Effie Obwora

Effie Obwora holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Nairobi. She has worked in several leading hotels including Sarova Stanley, where she worked in Customer Service as a Brand Ambassador. She has also been a lecturer in Hospitality at Diakonia Institute teaching:

    • Fundamentals Of Hotel & Catering
    • Culinary Theory & Practical
    • Food & Beverage Management
    • Restaurant Operations

She is a Director at Crossbridge Tours Limited.

Our management team below consists of skilled personnel with a wide experience in their respective fields who lead the rest of the Bright team.

Winfred Manda - Finance & Administration Manager

Winnie Manda

Winnie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies & Mathematics from Kenyatta University and is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya. She is currently pursuing her Global MBA from USIU in conjunction with KOGOD School of Business, American University.

Winnie has been with Bright since 2002 when she joined its precursor, Crossbridge Credit Limited and Valueplus Limited. She has wide experience in microfinance, accounts and administration. She currently oversees Finance and Office Administration.

Doris Ngugi - Team Leader Administration & Logistics

Doris Ngugi

Doris holds a Diploma in International Business Communication from Air Tours & Travel College. She has wide experience in administration in the IT Industry. Prior to joining Bright, she worked at Office Technologies Ltd. Doris is responsible for Administration, Logistics and HR at Bright.
Philip Michael Momanyi - Retail Branch Manager

Mike Momanyi

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He also holds a diploma in Information Technology from JKUAT, a CCNA Certification from KCA University, and a Certificate in Web Design from Zetech College.

He has a wide experience in IT and sales. Prior to joining Bright, he worked at Alliance One International. Mike has been with Bright since 2011 and is currently the Retail Branch Manager. He is responsible for all branch operations and performance including sales, customer service, warranty issues and management of staff.

Benard Migwi - Technical Manager

Ben Migwi

Ben holds a Diploma in Computer Studies from Kenya Polytechnic and a CCNA certification from KCCT, Multimedia University.

He worked for many years in Valueplus Ltd responsible for hardware, software and systems. There, he specialized in Electronic Fiscal Devices i.e. Electronic Tax Registers (ETR), Electronic Signature Device (ESD) and Fiscal Printers.

Ben oversees the technical department as they focus on providing technical solutions and support for our Corporate Sales department and Retail outlet. In this position, he is charged with the responsibility of offering consultancy and training, offering technical guidelines on hardware and software, and overseeing the Annual Maintenance Contracts and Service Level Agreements. Prior to this appointment, he was the Business Development Manager in the Technical department and Business Development Manager at Matrix Telecom Ltd. He has also worked as the Branch Manager at our Kimathi Street Branch.

John Waweru - Corporate Sales Department

John Waweru

John holds a diploma in Computer Networking from Kenya Christian Industrial Training Institute (KCITI). He has a wide experience in corporate sales including providing business solutions in Internet connection, structured cabling and network installations. He is well versed in fibre optics and WiMAX.

John is the Team Leader of Corporate Sales at Bright. He is responsible for managing and guiding the team. He is also responsible for team performance including, sales, customer service and after-sales service.

Jemimah Kinuthia - Corporate Sales Department

Jemimah Kinuthia

Jemimah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). She has a wide experience in sales and IT, working as an IT Consultant and Systems Administrator. Prior to joining Bright Technologies Ltd, she worked with Amon Computer Services.

Jemimah is the Team Leader of Corporate Sales at Bright. She is responsible for managing and guiding the team as well as team performance in sales, customer service and after-sales service.

Rita Murea - Corporate Sales Department

Rita Murea

Rita holds a diploma in Information Technology from Zetech College. She has a wide experience in corporate sales. Prior to joining Bright, she worked at Sight and Sounds Computers and Hewlett Packard (EA).

Rita is the Team Leader of Corporate Sales at Bright. She is responsible for managing and guiding the team as well as team performance in sales, customer service and after-sales service.

Jackline Muthoni - Corporate Sales Department

Jackline Muthoni

Jackline Muthoni holds a degree in Travel and Tours Operations Management from Moi University. She is well versed in corporate sales. Prior to joining Bright, she worked at Landmark Group, and Max fashion in Qatar. Jackline is a Team Leader in corporate sales at Bright.
Dorothy Muchiri - E-Marketing Department

Dorothy Muchiri

Dorothy holds a Diploma in IMIS from Kenya School of Monetary Studies and a certificate in software development. She has several years of experience in IT sales. She has previously worked with Alpha Source Limited and Creamy Inn.

Dorothy leads the E-Marketing department at Bright. She is responsible for managing and guiding the team as well as team performance in, sales, customer service and after-sales service.

Tony Kitui Nyaranga - Accessories Department

Tony Kitui

Tony holds a Diploma in Computer Information Technology from Zetech University College. He is well versed in IT sales. Prior to joining Bright, he worked with Nilla Communications Limited.

Tony is the Team Leader of Accessories responsible for managing and guiding the team. He is also responsible for the team’s performance in sales, customer service and after-sales service.

Doreen Atieno Odhiambo - Mobile Department

Doreen Atieno

Doreen holds a Diploma in Mass Communication from Multimedia University of Kenya. She is well versed in IT sales. Prior to joining Bright, she worked with Mentors Publishing Company.

Doreen leads the Mobile department at Bright. She is responsible for managing and guiding the team as well as team performance in sales, customer service and after-sales service.

Charles Kariuki - Laptop & Computer Department

Charles Kariuki

Charles Kariuki holds a diploma in Business Information Technology System from Nairobi Aviation College.  He has a wide experience in IT and Sales.

Prior to joining Bright, he worked at Food Plus Supermarket. Charles is currently the Team Leader of Computers & Laptops department at Bright.

Joy Adeya - Management Accountant

Joy Adeya

Joy is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya with over 5 years of experience. Prior to joining Bright, she worked at Mobika Investments Ltd as the company accountant.  At Bright, Joy is responsible for accounting functions including Treasury, Financial Accounts, Stocks and Payables.
Mary Njoki - Team Leader Procurement

Mary Njoki

Mary holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Binary University College, Malaysia and a Diploma in Information Technology (IMIS) from Vision Institute of Professional Studies, Nairobi.

She has a wide experience in corporate sales, administration and procurement. Prior to joining Bright, Mary worked for Microsoft under Qurus Management, selling IT products. She is in charge of procurement at Bright.
